Resort Report – April 2022

We are excited to see how travel has made an incredible comeback in the last few months as travel restrictions across the South Pacific – and the world – have been eased.

In this month’s Resort Report, we will provide you with details about new inventory added to Club Wyndham South Pacific, an update on travelling to Fiji and exciting details of some initiatives at some club properties.

Another 10 new rooms have been added to Club Wyndham South Pacific during April. These are at the following three resorts:

Club Wyndham Airlie Beach

  • 1 x 2-bedroom Deluxe apartment
  • 1 x 2-bedroom Grand apartment

Club Wyndham Flynns Beach

  • 2 x 2-bedroom Garden Grand villas
  • 3 x 3-bedroom Garden Grand villas

Club Wyndham Phillip Island

  • 1 x 2-bedroom Deluxe villas
  • 1 x 3-bedroom Deluxe villas
  • 1 x 3-bedroom Grand villas
All 10 apartments had already been made available to club owners until October 31 this year through an agreement between the Responsible Entity, Wyndham Vacation Clubs South Pacific, and the Developer, Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific.

Existing reservations at these apartments will not be affected by their addition to the club.

With international travel returning in earnest, we want to take this opportunity to provide some details on a refurbishment in progress at Club Wyndham Sea Pearl, which international travellers will be able to enjoy soon.

Bedding, furnishings, soft furnishings like curtains and some flooring will be replaced and bathroom works will be conducted in some apartments. A local designer who has previously worked on projects for brands including the Sofitel, Hard Rock and Outrigger will provide a fresh design with a Thai influence. The refurbishment of all 35 club rooms will be done in stages.

While we had aimed to begin the refurbishment earlier, until recently there have been challenges around developing a reliable schedule, hiring contractors and importing décor such as furniture due to COVID-19. A sound budget requires tight control over all these factors.

Owners now have the opportunity to enjoy a historic tour at Club Wyndham Ballarat to learn about the heritage of one of Australia’s most important towns.

Highlights include a penny farthing demonstration, the chance to sift for gold and gems at the resort’s onsite gold sluice, a visit to the historic chapel and the staff dressed in period costumes for the duration of the tour.

To take part during your next stay, please express your interest to reception at check-in. The tours start daily from 7am. Remember the resort also offers the opportunity for owners to use bikes, e-bikes, canoes and fishing gear on a complimentary basis!

Our rollout of ‘full-sized’ amenities continues across all club resorts. We have received plenty of positive feedback about the sustainability initiative, which ensures bottled amenities are not thrown away after being partially used and results in less wastage than small, single-use containers.

A number of owners have expressed an interest in having the amenities at home. If you are interested, you are welcome to ask at reception and you will be able to make a purchase. Please do not take the amenities in the room home as they are designed to be refilled for the next owner or guest

We are proud to present the May schedule of Owner Meet and Greets (informally called Owners’ Drinks), where you can meet with the team at the resort and get to know your fellow club owners!

You can find out more by asking at reception during your next stay, and the monthly list is available online at our Facebook group, exclusively for Club Wyndham South Pacific owners. Please supply your owner number to join the group.

The Fijian Government has made an announcement today that is sure to please many – the scrapping of the pre-arrival COVID-19 test from May 1 for fully vaccinated travellers.

Our resort teams are excited to see travel once again freeing up and are looking forward to welcoming even more of you back soon.
