As Canada’s oldest national park, Banff is arguably one of the country’s most spectacular locations. The eponymous resort town is surrounded by vast swathes of evergreen forest and jagged mountain ranges, and exploring that beautiful wilderness means crossing everything from glaciers to near-impassable cliffs. The park is inhabited by a diversity of wildlife, including grizzly bears and herds of elk. There’s many different ways to explore, so don’t worry – hiking, biking and skiing are all on offer, or, alternatively, just stay and relax in the township.
