Day 1 – Explore the Golden Beach
Step onto the iconic 1.5 kilometre stretch of golden sand that makes Manly an iconic destination. Start your morning with a jog or stroll beneath the Norfolk Island pines that line South to North Steyne. Whether you are in the mood to swim, surf, skate, or even snorkel – Manly is your playground! Take a break and enjoy some pancakes, a medium-rare steak, freshly caught seafood, or a juicy burger at one of the cafés before heading out for another seaside adventure.
Day 2 – Discover Art and Local Heritage
Begin your day with a cultural immersion at the Manly Art Gallery & Museum (MAG&M). Stroll through its exhibitions and admire contemporary art and craft collections that showcase local perspectives. You can even join a workshop to spark creativity and create your own masterpiece. Spend your third day exploring one of Sydney’s popular natural treasures; Sydney Harbour National Park. Start your day with a scenic walk and wildlife spotting – you might catch a glimpse of one of the park’s 150 bird species, such as a white-bellied sea eagle, New Holland honeyeater, or even a penguin. As you wander through the park’s historic sites, such as Greycliffe House or Macquarie Lighthouse, uncover stories of the Aboriginal people and the early dawn of Australia. Then, make your way to North Head, where an uninterrupted panorama of the harbour and the Sydney skyline create an unforgettable sight.
Day 4 – Underwater Adventure
Start your fourth day at Cabbage Tree Bay, where you can dive into the clear blue water for a refreshing swim or snorkel alongside more than 150 species of fish, including the famed blue gropers, giant cuttlefish, wobbygongs, green turtles, and even protected species like weedy seadragons, seagrasses, elegant wrasse, and grey nurse sharks – remember, fishing or collecting any marine life is prohibited! When hunger strikes, take a short trip to Chatswood – a vibrant area known for its diverse of Asian cuisine, markets, and souvenirs.
