Resort Report – 28 January 2022

It has been a challenging start to the year for Club Wyndham South Pacific but, fortunately, all resorts have now been able to implement solutions to the staffing issues created by COVID-19 and the related isolation requirements.

We all hope that travel this year will come with fewer restrictions and that you are able to get out and experience a club resort you have not tried or visit an old favourite!

Additional Associate Resort Inventory in Darwin

Club owners can now book two additional 1-bedroom Deluxe apartments at Ramada Suites by Wyndham Zen Quarter in Darwin using their vacation credits.

These apartments feature air conditioning/heating, balcony, washer/dryer, full kitchen (including refrigerator, microwave, stovetop, oven, dishwasher and toaster), tea and coffee making facilities, while the property offers amenities including complimentary Wi-Fi, 28-metre infinity pool overlooking Darwin Harbour, fitness centre, children’s play area, Horizen Café onsite, free parking, and business centre.

The apartments can be booked from today for stays from March 14 until the end of the Associate Resort agreement on September 30. As the 1-bedroom Deluxe room category has previously existed, these additional apartments will first be made available to owners who have Waitlisted.

You can visit here for more information about the property and for credit charts and seasonalities.

Please keep in mind that Associate Resorts are not club benefits; they are benefits provided by the Developer, Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific. Associate Resorts are offered to owners during a contracted period only and, like all Developer benefits, can be added or removed and are subject to change at any time.

Chief Activities Officer

You may have already heard on our owner Facebook Group – our Club Wyndham Seven Mile Beach General Manager, Emma Todd, has taken on an additional role as Chief Activities Officer.

After successfully creating an organic vegetable garden, weekly billy tea and damper afternoons, eco tours around the resort and what has become a much-loved hobby farm, Emma has the expertise and creativity required for this role. Club Wyndham Seven Mile Beach, under Emma’s guidance, also introduced craft sessions, movie nights, outdoor games, pizza making and cupcake decorating as holiday activities for kids last year.

We look forward to seeing what Emma can create at other Club Wyndham South Pacific resorts and you can expect to read more about the initiatives in future reports.

New Deck at Beaches Restaurant & Bar Seven Mile Beach

The multi-skilled maintenance team at Club Wyndham Seven Mile Beach have built a deck for Beaches Restaurant & Bar! Capable of seating 50 people, it was constructed over three months and will serve as a venue for Live Music on Sundays, an initiative to entertain owners and guests while promoting great local talent.

A large grassed area has also been cleared for bean bag seating, and an open fire pit has been created. The resort will be installing heaters so this space can also be comfortably utilised during the Tasmanian winter.

Club Wyndham Denarau Island Donates to Vaturu School

As part of recent refurbishments at Club Wyndham Denarau Island, mattresses were replaced in club rooms, and the best of those were selected and donated to the boarding house of Vaturu District School in the Sabeto Highlands.

The resort has been a long-term supporter of Vaturu School, as the school is in a remote location and therefore does not receive much community help. The last major donation to the school included purpose-built chairs and desks which was part of the resort’s Mai Yaloda community relations fundraising efforts.

Your club resorts endeavour to gift furniture to charity where possible, rather than send it to landfill. It is estimated that, in a regular year, more than eight tonnes of quality used furniture from refurbishments is provided to charitable partners who either gift the furniture or sell it to fund their crucial support services.

Well done to the Club Wyndham Denarau Island team!

Thank you for your patience during January and we look forward to providing you more information from your resorts in the coming months.
