Botanical Gardens and Museum

Via Luca Ghini, 13, 56126 Pisa PI, Italy

The Botanical Gardens and Museum are where history combines seamlessly with nature.  Founded in the 1500s, this historic site is situated in the heart of Pisa, and is arguably one of the city’s most iconic attractions.  The Gardens cover three hectares, and have a range of native and exotic plants – medicinal herbs, sprawling trees and aquatic flora are all well-represented.  The Museum, meanwhile, is dedicated to the history of botany, with exhibitions, portraits of famous scientists, and the Herbarium (home to over 300,000 herb samples).
