As a close neighbour of Los Angeles, Anaheim shares the city’s beautiful Californian climate, as well as its penchant for sun-soaked fun.  It doesn’t matter whether you’re a sophisticated solo traveller, or a family looking for a holiday that pairs easy-access amusements with a dose of sporting culture – Anaheim has everything you need for an amazing vacation.

If there’s one thing visitors shouldn’t miss, it’s Anaheim’s incredible array of theme parks.  Disneyland is, of course, the premier attraction.  This iconic site is well-known for its costumed performers, and as the home of Mickey Mouse, but it’s been modernised with the addition of Star Wars- and Marvel-themed sections which the kids are guaranteed to love.  Knott’s Berry Farm is also great for revisiting childhood – check out Camp Snoopy, hit a variety of water slides, and see the Old West Ghost Town.

For those with a love of sports, Anaheim has plenty of offerings to satisfy them.  The Honda Centre is one of the most prominent, and regularly hosts concerts, shows and ice hockey games; it’s also the home of the Anaheim Ducks.  Also worth checking out is Angel Stadium, which seats over 45,000 people and has several accompanying restaurants – baseball fans will love the opportunity to see their favourite teams in action.  Alternatively, get up a sweat by visiting Sky Zone Trampoline Park or racing go-karts in the K1 Speed centre.

Screaming kids and jam-packed theme parks can get a bit overwhelming, so decompress with a dose of retail therapy.  Wander through sprawling department stores, browse luxury boutiques, and visit hubs like the Outlets at Orange, Fashion Island and South Coast Plaza.  Once you’ve finished your spending spree, settle down at one of the city’s upscale restaurants – although there’s a great selection of multicultural offerings, visiting a genuine Anaheim steakhouse is definitely a great way to top off your holiday.
