Resort Report – June 2022

Travel continues to ramp up and we are seeing many owners booking the overseas holidays they have missed during the past two years. Restrictions persist in some areas, though, so we would encourage you to keep up-to-date with the latest advice both for your destination and home.

In this month’s Resort Report, we look at the latest inventory added to Club Wyndham South Pacific, details about refurbishments at Dunsborough and Golden Beach, and the latest schedule for Owner Meet and Greets.

The following inventory has recently been added to Club Wyndham South Pacific or will be added in the coming days:

Club Wyndham Airlie Beach

  • 2 x 2-bedroom Grand apartments

Club Wyndham Flynns Beach

  • 1 x 2-bedroom Grand Garden villa
  • 3 x 3-bedroom Grand Garden villas
  • 1 x 3-bedroom Presidential villa (to become part of the club on July 1)
  • 1 x 4-bedroom Presidential villa (to become part of the club on July 1)

Club Wyndham Phillip Island

  • 2 x 2-bedroom Deluxe villas

All 10 apartments and villas had previously been made available for club owners to book until October 31 this year through an agreement with the Responsible Entity, Wyndham Vacation Clubs South Pacific, and the Developer, Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific.

Existing reservations at these apartments or villas will not be affected by their addition to the club. Online, owners will see availability extend beyond October 31.

The 82 club rooms at Club Wyndham Dunsborough will start undergoing a staged refurbishment from next month. The project is expected to run until December.

All bathrooms and powder rooms will be renewed. In standard apartments, kitchen benchtops will be replaced and cabinets refaced. Luxury vinyl flooring will be laid in the living areas and the carpets in the bedroom areas will be 100 per cent wool.

As part of the refurbishment, most furniture, sofa beds and soft furnishings will be replaced. All apartments will be repainted in line with a bright new colour scheme inspired by the renowned Western Australian sun and the nearby beaches.

The resort’s Grand and Deluxe apartments will have a second bathroom installed, meaning both bedrooms will have an ensuite.

The club’s 60 apartments at Club Wyndham Golden Beach are undergoing a staged refurbishment. After several disruptions to the refurbishment calendar in 2020 and 2021, the team is excited to be working on this project.

All apartments will be provided with new furniture, bedding, sofa beds, soft furnishings and artwork in line with a fresh design and colour schemes. Some apartment kitchens will undergo a makeover, which will include additional kitchen facilities: 600mm cooktop, 600mm oven and a single drawer dishwasher. A new rangehood will be installed, along with a new tile splash back, stone benchtops and new laminate finish joinery.

Bathrooms are to be refurbished where required to improve shower access over baths.

Recently, we found there is some confusion about whether resort facilities can be utilised by owners who live near a resort or who are staying at another resort nearby.

A resort’s facilities and equipment are for the use of owners and guests staying onsite at the time. This way, owners using their vacation credits have the best possible chance of accessing and enjoying the resort facilities and your resorts continue to meet their safety protocols. Many club resorts are located within close proximity of thousands of owners and even a small percentage of those owners arriving to use the facilities would create access and safety issues.

Furthermore, some resorts have body corporate rules that permit only people staying or living on property to use the resort facilities. There are rare exceptions to the usage rules – for example, owners staying at Club Wyndham Port Stephens can use the facilities at Club Wyndham Shoal Bay. You can find these exceptions on the resort Before You Go pages.

However, owners can use the facilities at the resort where they are staying on the day of check-in or check-out if they arrive at the property early or leave late.

We thank you for your understanding in this matter.

We are pleased to present July’s schedule of Owner Meet and Greets (informally called Owners’ Drinks). If you are staying onsite, please come and introduce yourself to the team and your fellow owners!

The monthly list is also available online at our Facebook group, exclusively for Club Wyndham South Pacific owners. Please supply your owner number to join the group.

It has been an enjoyable few months for our resort teams welcoming back familiar faces. We hope to welcome you again soon!
