What to Pack When Travelling with Kids

Travelling with kids can be an exciting experience, but let’s be honest, packing for them can be a real challenge. You want to ensure you have everything your little ones need to stay comfortable and entertained throughout the journey. But don’t worry, we have got you covered. A well-packed bag can make your travel a breeze.

So, here are some essential items to pack when travelling with kids:

  1. Clothing: Pack clothes based on the weather, the trip duration, and planned activities. Packing an extra set of clothes is always a good idea in case of spills or accidents. Most of your club resorts have laundry facilities, so we recommend not bringing too much clothing that will take up your luggage space.
  2. Snacks: Pack your children’s preferred snacks, or choose healthy alternatives like fruits, granola bars, and nuts to keep them energised and satisfied throughout the trip.
  3. Entertainment: Keep your kids entertained with books, colouring books, puzzles, and tablets. Make sure to download some movies or TV shows that your kids enjoy so they can watch them while travelling. If the club resort you’re visiting has a play area or a kids’ club, there is no need to bring too many toys as they will surely enjoy the facility and company of other kids.
  4. Toiletries and Other Essentials: Pack travel-size toiletries such as toothpaste, shampoo, and soap to make packing easier and save luggage space. Bring essentials like a hand gel, sunscreen, and insect repellant. Your club resorts also provide basic toiletries and towels in your apartment. If travelling with babies, consider bringing enough diapers, wipes, nappy rash cream, changing mat, milk bottles, a bottlebrush, a steriliser, and bibs.
  5. Comfort Items: Pack a favourite blanket or stuffed animal to help your child feel at home in unfamiliar surroundings. Bringing a travel pillow for long car rides or flights is also a good idea.
  6. Medicines. Bring a first aid kit with band-aids, antiseptic cream, antihistamines, pain relief (Paracetamol/Ibuprofen), motion sickness medication, and any prescription medication your child might need.
  7. Travel documents. Before making any travel arrangements, it’s important to double-check that all your documents are current and valid, especially if you’re travelling to another country. Remember, even babies require passports. To be extra safe, consider printing out or saving digital copies of all your travel documents in case they go missing during your trip.
  8. Kid’s backpack. Instead of having your kids carry luggage, consider giving them a small backpack with all their essentials. However, make sure they haven’t snuck anything that could trigger airport security before leaving for your trip.
  9. Reusable water bottles. Bring refillable water bottles for you and your kids to stay hydrated on the go and save money. Many club resorts offer water refilling stations or facilities during your stay.

Remember, when travelling with kids, it’s all about packing smart, not packing everything you can fit in your luggage. Also, check the resort’s amenities to ensure you don’t pack items that are already available at the resort. With these tips in mind, you can enjoy your travels to the fullest and make unforgettable memories with your family.
