Kaloko-Honokōhau National Historical Park is one of Hawai’i’s most fascinating examples of traditional Hawaiian culture. The park was once home to an early Hawaiian settlement, and there are a number of ancient structures that tourists can visit. Fishponds and fish-traps, used to breed saltwater fish for food, are great examples of engineering ingenuity, while heiau (temples) and kii pohaku (petroglyphs) provide insight into traditional culture. Guided tours are available.
