344 Khwaeng Ban Bat, Khet Pom Prap Sattru Phai, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10100, Thailand
Wat Saket Ratcha Wora Maha Wihan, known as the Golden Mount Temple in English, is an ancient Buddhist temple in the heart of the Ban Bat sub-district. Squatting on an artificial hill, this stunning golden chedi commands impressive views of the surrounding city, and is considered a Bangkok icon. Although a well-known tourist attraction, it’s still very much a functioning temple, and you’ll probably see orange-robed Buddhist clergy conducting clerical duties like gong-beating.
