Brunnbichl 5, 83727 Schliersee, Germany
Founded by Schliersee local Markus Wasmeier, this open-air museum is a family-friendly attraction designed to give visitors a taste of old Bavaria. The museum village is populated by local craftsmen like brewers, carpenters, cobblers and ironsmiths; wandering between forges and distilleries, you can see these men and women practising traditional German craftsmanship. The Freilichtmuseum offers a year-round roster of events, as well as guided tours for both kids and adults. The Zum Wofen tavern is arguably the tastiest part of the village – relax in their beer garden, taste native Bavarian snacks, and then wash them down with a hearty home brew.
