This sprawling valley, nicknamed the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, is markedly more accessible than Nā Pali. Over 10 miles (16 kms) long and 3,600 feet (1,097 metres) deep, Waimea Canyon provides visitors with panoramic views of forested mountains and white-plumed waterfalls. There’s a number of hiking and hunting trails accessible, as well as private tours which help you get the most out of your Waimea experience. For something a little different, float along the Waimea River with the Kauai Shore Excursion, or test your mountain-biking skills with Waimea Canyon Bicycle Downhill.
