As the most western point in Hawaii, secluded Polihale State Park’s best feature is its sprawling beach. Complete with towering sand dunes that reach up to 100 feet (30 metres) high, it’s the perfect place to go sunbathing or enjoy a relaxing walk. Due to isolation of the beach and the roughness of the surf, swimming is not recommended. Note that to access Polihale, you will need a 4×4 vehicle, which can be hired from local rental companies.
