The Hakone Open-Air Museum, or Hakone Chōkoku No Mori Bijutsukan, is a modernist gallery featuring an ensemble of abstract sculptures.  Situated among the mountains of Hakone, this fascinating exhibit includes a number of works by Picasso, as well as unique offerings like the Symphonic Sculpture (a stained-glass viewing platform).  In addition to its artistic line-up, the museum also features child-friendly spaces like Zig Zag World, and on-site shops and cafes.  If you’re looking for a unique Japanese attraction that caters to the whole family, the Hakone Open-Air Museum is it.
