Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Rouen

Place de la Cathédrale, 76000 Rouen, France

The Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Rouen is one of Rouen’s most famous landmarks, and, despite its titular similarity to the more famous Notre-Dame de Paris, has a long history of its own.  Boasting eye-catching Gothic architecture, the church was first constructed in the 1100s, and has been repeatedly restored and rebuilt across the centuries.  It has featured in a number of famous paintings, including those created by Claude Monet and John Ruskin.  Tourists can enjoy the building’s majestic interior and its stained-glass artwork, or visit the tombs of historic figures like Richard the Lionheart.
