Resort Report – Aug 2022

It has been heartening to see many Club Wyndham South Pacific owners travelling and enjoying their stays at their properties in recent months. Considering international travel was heavily restricted as recently as the start of this year, we have come a long way in a few months.

With fewer restrictions on services and suppliers, our Property Development and Resort Operations teams are currently busy rolling out projects across the resort portfolio.

The refurbishments at Club Wyndham Sea Pearl Phuket and Club Wyndham Shoal Bay are due to wrap up in the coming months.

The refurbishment at Phuket, Thailand, is being conducted by a local designer who has previously worked on projects at other international resorts within the country. There is a Thai influence to the design and selection of new bedding, furnishings, soft furnishings like curtains and any flooring that will be replaced. There will also be bathroom work conducted in some apartments.

All 35 club rooms are undergoing refurbishment and despite a few logistical challenges along the way – lingering effects of COVID-19 – we are anticipating a finish prior the festive season. We would like to thank all owners who have travelled to Thailand for their patience.

At Shoal Bay, the refurbishment of all 56 club apartments is running on schedule and is expected to finish in the coming weeks. Bedding, furnishings, soft furnishings and some flooring has been replaced, with the design concept inspired by the resort’s oceanfront location.

Club Wyndham Kirra Beach recently opened its new nine-hole minigolf course after a renovation. The team looks forward to welcoming your family for a fun game!

Work has also begun on the resort’s external facelift. A crew of six full-time painters have recently started a four-month project to repaint the entire resort’s exterior with 2,500 litres of paint. These painters will abseil down the side of the building during weekdays, which will necessitate some balcony closures at times during the day. However, work concludes daily at around 3.30pm, meaning balconies and the rooftop can be utilised in the late afternoon and evening.

Thank you for your patience and understanding that this is essential work to future-proof the resort. You can find out more about this project and the estimated dates of a refurbishment for the resort on the Before You Go page.
