The second part of the refurbishment of Club Wyndham Dunsborough is due to start next week. The remaining 36 club apartments will be refreshed between now and November. This project includes a renewal of bathrooms and powder rooms, replacement of flooring – with hard-wearing vinyl in the living areas and 100 per cent wool carpets in the bedrooms – and new furniture, sofa beds and soft furnishings.

The second stage of the Club Wyndham Melbourne refurbishment recently kicked off. All club apartments will be repainted, while new furniture, bedding and window furnishings will be updated. New, custom-designed carpets will fit in with the apartments’ new, sleek design. Ceiling fans will be installed in the bedrooms and the Grand and Presidential apartments will feature elegant pendant lighting. In the coming months, the reception area will undergo some minor adjustments with improved lighting and new wallpaper.

The refurbishment of all 98 apartments at Club Wyndham Kirra Beach, detailed in the previous Resort Report, will begin before the end of the month. The apartments will be given a new design and repainted, while bedding, furnishings and soft furnishings will be replaced. A custom Axminster carpet will be an elegant feature, while new vanities will be installed in some bathrooms.

All 68 apartments at Club Wyndham Wanaka, along with a number of common spaces, are undergoing refurbishment this year. The project to refresh the apartments is scheduled for later in the year; however, an upgrade of the reception and lounge area has almost finished. In the photos below, you can see the new design and flooring, paint and furnishings.

Club Wyndham Wanaka’s facilities have also been enhanced:

  • The gas barbecues have been replaced with new electric barbecues
  • The outdoor furniture in the barbecue area has been replaced
  • The pool’s heating system was updated last year and means the pool is able to remain open through winter
  • The gym has been repainted and photos placed over the windowsills to give people using the facility enhanced privacy
  • The guest laundry now features modern, quiet washing machines and dryers, and can be used 24 hours a day if necessary
  • The key card system has been upgraded, which has solved the problem of cards deactivating

Our teams enjoy refreshing club properties for club owners. If you have stayed at a refurbished resort, we welcome your feedback in your next post-stay survey.

Some Australian club resorts have added new activities or purchased new equipment that owners can use on a complimentary basis.

Club Wyndham Ballarat has created a disc golf course on its ample grounds. For those not familiar with disc golf, the sport bears some similarities to golf: players throw a disc from a tee area to a target (a basket) and the objective is to do this in as few throws as possible. Trees and shrubs around the fairway serve to challenge the disc golfer.

Club Wyndham Dinner Plain has unveiled a scavenger hunt which will take place during daylight hours. Club Wyndham Coffs Harbour now has a “fish borrowing” program, where owners can make a booking and take care of a fish during their stay! Bookings are capped at seven days. The idea is sure to fascinate children and the resort has already had several families who have enjoyed taking care of the resort pet.

Club Wyndham Port Douglas is running a beach yoga class every Wednesday from 6.30am, while Club Wyndham Dunsborough holds yoga/Pilates on every Wednesday at 9am. Bookings are required for both and club owners can attend at no cost. Club Wyndham Perth now has two e-scooters that can be booked and utilised on a complimentary basis by owners.

The club’s Presidential Suite at Club Wyndham Airlie Beach has been recognised at the GNEX Vacation Industry Awards, a prestigious international recognition within the timeshare industry. The apartment was originally a three-storey home that underwent a rigorous work program, including extended roof lines, new decking, sanded and polished floorboards and the addition of wool carpets in bedrooms, alfresco dining settings, outdoor showers, spa bath, private cabanas and day beds.

The extensive refurbishment, conducted by the Developer, was recognised with the Best Interior Design award. The club apartment has proven popular with owners since its recent addition!

We are pleased to provide our Owner Meet and Greet schedule for May! If you are staying during the times indicated, we highly recommend you come along and meet fellow owners and resort staff.

Please note that Club Wyndham Perth is running a breakfast in its final two Owner Meet and Greets for the month, beginning at 8am.

We look forward to welcoming you on your next club holiday soon!
