Saturday, 21 March  (D) Salamanca Markets and MONA
Pick up guests at Club Wyndham Seven Mile Beach and drive to Salamanca

Salamanca Market is Tasmania’s most visited tourism attraction and runs each Saturday from 8.30 am to 3 pm, rain, hail or shine. The market extends the full length of Hobart’s historic Salamanca Place, from the silos end to the top of Davey Street. You will find a huge selection of locally made products and you can meet the makers, the artisans, the designers and producers. With over 300 stallholders, the market includes fresh produce from local growers, hot coffee, delicious breakfast and lunch options, lots of gift ideas and plenty of handmade products. The market is one of those special places where you can find plenty of handmade and home grown produce, mingle with the locals, enjoy the vibrancy and atmosphere, and discover the heart of a creative island.

After a leisurely time at the markets we will make our way to the Ferry terminal for a ride on the Posh Pit Ferry to MONA – Escape the riff-raff in the ferry’s private lounge, bar and deck. Includes complimentary bevvies, tiny food and inflated egos.

Museum of Old and New Art | MONA – There’s one thing we can guarantee when visiting MONA, you’ll never see another museum like it. The weird, whacky, wonderful and downright bizarre all call MONA home. Located just up the river from Hobart, Mona’s subterranean architecture showcases the highlights (and lowlights) of David Walsh’s $110m private collection of art and antiquities, as well as hosting a busy exhibitions program.

After an incredible day we will finish with a well deserved dinner at  Mures Upper Deck, award-winning seafood restaurant is the flagship of a group of companies founded by George & Jill Mure over forty years ago. With an international reputation for Tasmania’s world class seafood, Upper Deck is the ultimate seafood experience in Hobart. Mures are unique as they catch their own fish, source and prepare all our seafood to enjoy with stunning views of Victoria Dock. It remains a family-owned business where the passion for the sea and Tasmania is clear from deckhands through to the Executive Chef.
2 course dinner (no steak, no drinks)

Sunday, 22 March
Free day to explore and relax at leisure

Monday, 23 March   Port Arthur
Pick up guests at Club Wyndham and drive to Port Arthur

Pirate’s Bay Lookout – As you approach the Tasman Peninsula and begin your descent through Eaglehawk Neck, be sure to take a short detour to the left to Pirate’s Bay Lookout. The views of the coastline are breathtaking. If you are lucky, the Cubed Espresso van, with their cushions, blankets and chairs, will be ready to make you a fabulous coffee, to be enjoyed whilst soaking up the ambience.

Port Arthur Historic Site  Welcome to the captivating world of Port Arthur Historic Site, an extraordinary destination steeped in rich history and haunting beauty. Nestled on the scenic Tasman Peninsula, this UNESCO World Heritage-listed site offers a poignant journey into Tasmania’s convict past. Welcome aboard for a short harbour cruise around the captivating Isle of the Dead and Point Puer, where history and natural beauty intertwine to create an unforgettable experience. Set sail on tranquil waters as we embark on a journey that unveils Tasmania’s intriguing past and scenic wonders.

Sightseeing:
Port Arthur Lavender Farm Nestled within seven hectares (18 acres) of lavender, rainforest and lakes and overlooking the ocean at Long Bay, Port Arthur Lavender’s visitor centre and café showcase millennia-old uses of this fragrant flower alongside modern cuisine and a fully functioning essential oil distillery. Stroll around the lavender trail or take in the ocean views while enjoying fresh Tasmanian produce in the lavender-inspired café.

Tasman Arch, Devil’s Kitchen & Tasman Blowhole – Located in Tasman National Park, these three attractions are all rock formations located on the coast line. Each is different in it’s own and make for the perfect scenic photos of the Tasman Peninsula.  The Blowhole is one of the Tasman Peninsula’s most famous and ruggedly beautiful attractions. Like neighbouring Tasman Arch and Devils Kitchen, the Blowhole began as a small cave. Millions of years of water and wind erosion have led to the unique geological formations seen today. Devils Kitchen takes its name from the cauldron of foaming fury where swells of the Great Southern Ocean crash and swirl around the base of its cliffs. Even on relatively calm days this is incredible to watch.  The nearby Tasman Arch is a naturally formed archway, eroding away over time with the huge swells of the Peninsula. A short walk from here leads you to impressive views of the Peninsula’s coastline.

Tessellated Pavement (time permitting)  This geological phenomena is a sight to behold, walk down to the waterfront to get the best view of these tile looking rocks. Don’t forget to take your camera with you, it’s a great place to snap some photos of our world class scenery.

Wednesday, 25 March  Bruny Island (L)
Pick up guests at Club Wyndham and drive to Kettering – Ferry to Bruny Island

Get Shucked | Stop for some oysters (at own expense) About 3 million oysters are harvested on Bruny Island every year, a combined effort of about 15 oyster farms. The cold and clean waters of Bruny Island are said to result in sweet and plump oysters with a noticeable briny tang. One of the easiest places to sample Bruny Island oysters is at Get Shucked in Great Bay, a locally owned and operated oyster farm with a fully licensed oyster bar. Their oysters are harvested, shucked and plated up daily just for you! You’d be hard pressed to find a fresher oyster or a more authentic experience. Enjoy them freshly shucked and au naturel or served with three different dressings. Only Pacific oysters are cultivated here, and we appreciate their gentle creaminess. The menu yields a bonanza of oyster variations, everything from oysters Kilpatrick to panko-crumbed deep fried oysters to oyster pate.
Lunch included at Bruny Island Cheese & Beer Co.

Saturday, Mar 28 | Full day to explore Freycinet National Park (B,D)
Today, our guide will take you on an unforgettable journey through Freycinet National Park, showcasing its most breath-taking sights and hidden gems.

Some of the options are listed below.
Freycinet National Park – Freycinet National Park, one of the first National Parks in the state is the perfect location for a day out on the east coast. Here we’ll visit Friendly Beaches, Cape Tourville Lighthouse, Honeymoon Bay and of course, the world famous Wineglass Bay. You can choose from a 1.5 hours return walk to the Wineglass Bay Lookout or the longer walk of 3 hours return down to Wineglass Bay beach (please note the walk back is steep, this is a medium grade hike).

Wineglass Bay Lookout – Walk to one of Tasmania’s most celebrated views—the crystal-clear waters and curvaceous white beach of Wineglass Bay. A beautifully constructed track takes you up through coastal woodland, past striking granite boulders, to the lookout. This is a steep uphill walk—around 2.6km return for a total of about 1.5 hours—so walkers are advised to take advantage of the resting seats found along the way. Once you’re at the saddle, it’s not far to the lookout platforms and a view that will reward your effort. An occasional bonus for some is the sight of whales or dolphins in the bay. This walk is best done in the early morning and afternoon to avoid the busy midday period.

Cape Tourville | Grade 1 walk | 20 minute circuit – With remarkable coastal views of Freycinet National Park and a well-constructed walkway, this very easy walk is a great way for everyone to experience Freycinet. The elevated track loops around the automated lighthouse at Cape Tourville. The track is wide, with even surfaces and gently graded slopes. Much of the walk is on a raised boardwalk which, at times, takes you right to the cliff edge, offering amazing views. Sights include the Hazards, Wineglass Bay and nearby offshore rocks known as The Nuggets. Keep an eye out for wildlife. Sea birds, sea-eagles, whales, seals and dolphins have all been seen from here. Binoculars and a camera are recommended.

Honeymoon Bay – Likely the second most photographed location in the park, this beautiful little bay is rich with history and natural wonder. Aptly named, Honeymoon Bay is a beautiful, tiny, secluded little bay inside the Freycinet National Park. Popular for snorkelling, swimming, sunset viewing, and picnics, this little bay is loved by visitors and locals alike.

Friendly Beaches – The name is enticing enough, but the scene along this long white line of beaches on the peninsula’s north coast is every bit as good as the title. The sand stretches more than 10km, inviting walks of a few minutes to a few hours, with lagoons pooled behind the beaches.
Overnight: Freycinet Lodge including dinner at The Bay Restaurant at Freycinet Lodge – 2 course shared style dinner included

Sunday, March 29 | Check-out at Freycinet Lodge (B,L)
Pick up guests and depart to Cradle Mountain

Campbell Town – (Time permitting) Stop by the historic township of Campbell Town for a short wander through the main street or to visit one of Tasmania’s most unique book shops. Campbell Town was named by Governor Lachlan Macquarie after the family name of his second wife, Elizabeth Campbell, during a visit in 1821. Elizabeth’s name pops up frequently across central Tasmania, including on the Elizabeth River that runs through Campbell Town.

Town of Evendale – (Time permitting) Evendale today is a National Trust classified Georgian village, popular with tourists for its unspoiled heritage buildings, notably St Andrews Church, the Uniting Church, with its classical belltower and Doric columns, Blenheim (1832) in High Street; Royal Oak (1840) and adjoining stables now Evandale Antiques, Clarendon Arms hotel (1847) and Fallgrove (1826) in Russell Street; Solomon House (1836), and the saddler’s shop (1840) at the intersection of Russell Street and High Street.

Just down the road is Clarendon House – arguably one of Australia’s greatest Georgian houses still standing today. It has formal gardens and grounds, a tree lined avenue, Italianate facade, restored early colonial outbuildings and is owned by the National Trust. The wealthy grazier and merchant James Cox (son of William Cox) had the house built in 1838.

Josef Chromy | Let’s Lunch – Acclaimed as one of Australia’s top 10, the cellar door is housed in the original 1880s homestead. There’s always a log fire burning and great views to take in while you taste a wide range of award-winning cool climate wines including
Sparkling, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Botrytis Riesling and a Ruby Pinot Port.
Here we’ll enjoy a two course lunch and wine tasting of their award winning wines.

Deloraine – As ground zero for Australia’s biggest working craft festival, the Tasmanian Craft Fair, held each November, Deloraine lures more than 200 leadlighters and candlestick makers, printers and woodcarvers, kitemakers and glass artists, swelling the town’s population for the four days of the event. When it’s not in the grip of crafting, Deloraine is perfect for a spot of window shopping – its streets are lined with Georgian and Victorian shopfronts full of art, antiques and crafts.

Set out on foot along the Great Western Tiers Sculpture Trail around the town and along the river to see the works of Tasmanian artists, while the short kooparoona niara cultural trail unveils native plantings, bush tucker and artworks inspired by Tasmanian Aboriginal culture.
Check in: Cradle Mountain Lodge and enjoy dinner at Highland  Restaurant – 3 Course Set menu included

Monday, March 30 | Full day to explore Cradle Mountain National Park (B,D)

Today we explore the stunning Cradle Mountain National Park. Your guide will lead you through some of the area’s most iconic landscapes, as well as a few hidden treasures along the way.
Here are just a few of the experiences you might enjoy:

Cradle Mountain National Park – Cradle Mountain is Tasmania’s most recognisable landmark and one of Tasmania’s most visited attractions. Located at the northern end of the Cradle Mountain Lake-St Clair National Park, Cradle Mountain is part of the Tasmanian World Heritage Wilderness Area. The surrounding landscape of ancient rainforest and alpine lands with colourful beech makes for any number of beautiful walks. There are many superb short walks from the visitor centre and the Dove Lake car park, 14 kilometres further on. We recommend taking today to explore the 6km track, which is surely one of the premier walks in Tasmania. Starting from Dove Lake, a glacially carved lake directly beneath Cradle Mountain, the walk offers both intimate and epic views of the famous mountain. The track undulates around Dove Lake, traverses beneath the mountain, then returns through magnificent rainforest to the starting point. The walk takes you through some of Tasmania’s special vegetation, from buttongrass to myrtle, sassafras, rare fagus and ancient King Billy pine. Walk in a clockwise direction. A shuttle bus takes visitors into the park and if you choose to walk part of the way the shuttle will pick you up at various points along the road.

Optional extras:
Devils @Cradle – Not included – The Devils @ Cradle Tasmanian devil sanctuary is a breeding and conservation facility for three of Tasmania’s unique threatened carnivorous marsupials; the Tasmanian devil, the Spotted-tail quoll, and Eastern quoll. The facility is located on the edge of the Cradle Mountain National Park World Heritage area and conducts in-situ conservation programs for the Tasmanian devil including an on-site breeding program for insurance of the species. A visit to the sanctuary day or night will allow you to observe these extraordinary animals up close whilst one of our keepers will give you an understanding of their life cycle and the threats that confront them. Devils @ Cradle is committed to the conservation and protection of this now vulnerable species. The centre operates a successful captive breeding program, ensuring the ongoing survival of Tasmanian devils in healthy numbers in the wild. ( Pricing  to come)

Dove Lake Kayak | King Billy Pine Kayak tour – Not included – The view of Cradle Mountain with Dove Lake in the foreground is one of the most famous vistas in the Australian wilderness. This tour gives you an unique opportunity to immerse yourself in that vista. You meet our guide for the tour at our boat shed, next to the Dove Lake viewing shelter. They will kit you out with the gear you need and then wheel the boats down to the lake on trolleys. We will spend approximately two hours traversing the lake. Along the way, we will pass the most famous places in the Cradle Mountain area, including Glacier Rock, Honeymoon Island, the Ballroom Forrest and the boat shed. At the southern end of the lake, with the spires of Cradle Mountain towering overhead, we will have a stop on a beach and a snack. We’ll also hunt around for a living King Billy.
