COVID TESTING (INTERNATIONAL GUESTS)

To enter Fiji from a Travel Partner Country you will be required to undertake two mandatory tests, at minimum, which must be arranged by you and is at your own expense:

  1. Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) taken no more than 24 hours prior to the commencement of your journey. This applies to all travelers disembarking in Fiji. More information and requirements can be found here https://www.mcttt.gov.fj/home/traveltofiji/international-travel/
  2. And a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) on day two of arrival (Day of arrival is considered Day 0 and Night 1). After clearing a negative test on day 2, travelers can continue to explore safe travel areas or enter the wider community. If traveler has entered with a proof of the isolation period served from a credible institution or a fit to fly certificate from a medical practitioner, the in-country RAT does not apply.

Please note: For travelers who previously tested positive within 30 days of travel to Fiji, they must provide proof of isolation period served from a credible institution or produce a fit to fly certificate from a medical practitioner. If outside the 30 days, a negative result from an acceptable COVID-19 test is required. For more information on an acceptable fit to fly certificate please visit here https://www.mcttt.gov.fj/home/traveltofiji/international-travel/

To ensure that the Resort and the Club meet the government guidelines, the Resort has entered into an arrangement with a Ministry of Health & Medical Services (MHMS) approved medical provider Budget Pharmacy to facilitate this testing on site for our guests.

The swab is collected and certified by their team of trained health professionals, refer to Budget Pharmacy Consent Form. The price of the arrival Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) facilitated on site by Budget Pharmacy is $32FJD and the departure Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) is $50FJD, these charges will be payable by you by room charge to your guest account. All PCR testing and requested medical documentation are priced on application.

Please note these prices are subject to change at the supplier discretion.  We also remind guests it is their individual responsibility to ensure they arrange their testing with ample time to ensure they receive their test results back in time for their return flight. Wyndham is not responsible for any testing inconveniences, service shortfalls or the test results.

On arrival to the resort if you require testing please ask our friendly front office team for more information. In the case of a positive test result you will be required to isolate. The mandated Fijian isolation period for those who test positive is 7 days. (for more on this, please continue reading).

PRE-PAID ITINERARY

Upon entry to Fiji, you will be asked to produce proof of a minimum 3 nights pre-booked accommodation at a Care Fiji Commitment (CFC) certified property (hotel/resort). Prior to the Day 2 COVID test travelers can explore Safe Travel Areas (STA) and take part in CFC approved tours, excursions and experiences. Please note there may be some areas and villages with low vaccination rates which are no-go zones. Please ask our friendly reception team for more information on these areas.

CFC certified ground transfers from the airport to the resort may also be requestedfrom a CFC approved transfer company. Club Wyndham Denarau is an approved CFC property and a full list of CFC Businesses including transfer companies can be found here.

TEMPERATURE SCREENING & PROCEDURES IN THE EVENT OF A HIGH TEMPERATURE

Upon arrival at the resort, all guests will be directed to a temperature screening table before proceeding to check-in. Your temperature must be no higher than 37.7 degrees Celsius.

If you have a temperature reading of 37.8 degrees Celsius or more, you will be re-directed to our Medical Lounge. Another temperature check will be conducted within 10-minutes of your initial check.

Should your temperature continue to display 37.8 degrees Celsius or more, you can expect to be re-directed to your apartment for isolation. At this point our Wellness Ambassador will then direct you to our testing facility for you to undertake a rapid antigen test (RAT).

PROOF OF VACCINATION & TESTING ON ARRIVAL (FIJI RESIDENTS ONLY)

Following on from your temperature check, guests who are Fijian residents will be subject to a verification of vaccination status.  Our Fijian owners and guests eligible for vaccination will need to produce their vaccination cards together with a valid ID.

In the event that there are anomalies, we will need to escalate to our Wellness Ambassador who will then in turn engage the Government authorities for verification. We apologise in advance as this may delay your ability to check in.

As of January 1, 2022, owners or guests with a private residence in Fiji (belonging to them or immediate family) who test positive to COVID-19 while staying at the resort will be required to depart the resort immediately and perform their isolation at home. This will apply to all guests sharing the same apartment, who will be considered close contacts. As with all owners and guests testing positive for COVID-19, the charge to sanitise your apartment will start from FJ$350 (for a 1-bedroom apartment). We strongly advise owners or guests who have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19 or are feeling unwell not to come to the resort.

MASK WEARING & SOCIAL DISTANCING  While we encourage mask wearing and social distancing in our public areas i.e. our lobby. Mask wearing is currently not compulsory in Fiji however can change at the government’s discretion.

MANDATORY TRAVEL INSURANCE

Travel plans change sometimes – but that doesn’t have to spoil your holiday. The Fijian government have mandated that Traveler’s (foreign nationals travelling for holiday purpose) must have medical travel insurance, with international coverage that covers COVID-19 before travelling.  If you or a family member tests positive for COVID-19 during your stay, appropriate insurance will be needed to cover costs related to room relocation and booking extensions, rebooking airline tickets and any associated medical or sanitization costs. We also encourage travel insurance in excess of your holiday time frame in the instance you need to extend your stay due to COVID-19 and require a longer period of coverage.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU TEST POSITIVE WHILST IN-HOUSE

The following are guidelines as put together by the Care Fiji Commitment and are subject to change by the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport (MCTTT).

If guests return a positive test for COVID-19, the Ministry of Health & Medical Services (MHMS) will be notified immediately and guests will remain in their room until cleared by the MHMS on day 7 of the isolation period. Your isolation period will be within the apartment you are currently allocated subject to availability. If applicable, and where there is availability, any additional nights required for your isolation must be paid with credits OR if you have insufficient credits available, payable by you in cash. Additional medical tests and sanitization/decontamination of the apartment post departure will also be at the expense of the guest (one bedroom $350, two bedroom $450 and three bedroom $550FJD). You will be allocated a member of our team to deliver room service, groceries or other items you require to make your isolation period more comfortable. Any deliveries will be dropped at the front of your room door and charges will be posted to your room account. There will be no interaction with staff or others guests during your isolation period. The mandated Fijian isolation period is 7 days. Please refer to https://www.health.gov.au/health-alerts/covid-19/international-travel/inbound on what is required to return to Australia should you test positive during your stay.

DEPARTURE

Travellers may also require further COVID-19 test results to return to their countries of origin or another destination. This can be facilitated at the hotel on advance notice at the traveller’s expense. The costs for these tests will be payable by the guest by room charge to your guest room account. These fees are current and subject to change. It is the travellers individual responsibility to understand the requirements to return to their country and state of origin or other destination. Wyndham is not responsible for any inconvenience related to testing and testing frames. Please ensure you stay up to date with what is required to return home or travel onwards from Fiji.
