Resort Report – May 2023

As we reach the mid-year mark, we are happy to share another Resort Report to help you plan your travels for the rest of 2023 and into 2024! There are exciting new additions to your club inventory and refurbishments at properties across the South Pacific.

We look forward to greeting you in person soon at your next club holiday. Until then, we wish you a wonderful start to June.

In May, the following inventory became available for bookings:

Club Wyndham Airlie Beach

  • 1 x 1-bedroom Deluxe
  • 1 x 2-bedroom Deluxe
  • 1 x 3-bedroom Deluxe

Club Wyndham Flynns Beach

  • 2 x 1-bedroom Deluxe Garden
  • 1 x 3-bedroom Grand Garden

Club Wyndham Phillip Island

  • 1 x 2-bedroom Deluxe
  • 1 x 3-bedroom Deluxe

We regret to inform you that we have made the difficult decision to close Club Wyndham Dreamland Bali for future bookings until a re-opening date can be confirmed. This will give Club Wyndham South Pacific owners more certainty about their travel plans in Bali and enable them to make confirmed bookings at other club resorts or take advantage of an Associate Resort option on offer in Bali.

Last July, we advised all Club Wyndham South Pacific owners of the unforeseen challenges facing the property. The joint venture parties (“JV Owners”) have not been able to reach agreement yet and the advice we continue to receive is that we are unable to reopen the club apartments or allow owners and guests on the resort property until an agreement is reached.

If you have an existing booking at Club Wyndham Dreamland Bali, the Owner Services team will proactively check with you to see if you still want to travel or cancel your booking. The team will send you a link by SMS for you to complete at your earliest convenience.

You can cancel without penalty. If your reservation held expired credits, these will be returned to you with a new travel date, within 14 days of confirming your cancellation. You can also cancel your booking and rebook one of our high quality Associate Resort options:

  • Merusaka Nusa Dua – situated on the south-east coast of Bali, Nusa Dua is one of the island’s most exclusive locales, with luxurious hotels and resorts, exclusive golf clubs and beautiful beaches. This pocket of white sand, blue sue and brilliant warmth is a hug for snorkeling, surfing and golf – or is perfect for relaxing by the pool and playing with the family on the beach. This five star resort features an elegant three-tier pool with ocean views, day spa, fitness centre, kids’ club, outdoor jogging track and four onsite restaurants and bars.

Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Resort Bali, which we are pleased to announce has just been renewed until 31 May 2024. This resort is positioned beachfront on the black sands of Lepang Beach and surrounded by rice paddies – the perfect place to unwind and recharge away the hustle and bustle of cityscapes, or explore the cultural and scenic side of Bali at your leisure. The resort features two outdoor pools, day spa, fitness centre, business centre, kids’ club and beach club. The deluxe room, studio suite ocean view rooms and pool villa accessible to club owners feature alluring local design and complimentary Wi-Fi. Studio suites feature a plunge pool and the 1-bedroom pool villa boasts a generous-sized personal pool.

We are also looking at additional Associate Resort options and hope to making an announcement soon.

By way of reminder, Associate Resorts are benefits provided by the Developer, Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific and, as such, have conditions set by the Developer including 180 days’ validity of credits and different reservation windows.

If you choose to travel and confirm your existing reservation, the club will arrange alternative accommodation at one of multiple high quality properties currently being utilised in place of Club Wyndham Dreamland Resort Bali.

Once again, we continue to explore every avenue possible to reopen Club Wyndham Dreamland Bali with the guidance of professionals in Indonesia. Thank you for your patience as we work to overcome this challenge.

Stage two of the Club Wyndham Golden Beach refurbishment has commenced. The club’s remaining 38 apartments will undergo a refresh with new furniture, bedding, sofa beds, soft furnishings and artwork. Apartments will also have upgraded kitchen facilities, including a four-burner cooktop, oven, single dishwasher drawer and a new rangehood. Some bathrooms will be altered to ensure each has a walk-in shower to improve accessibility.

Our project team is back on site at Club Wyndham Denarau Island after a short school holiday break. The team is updating all 155 Club Wyndham South Pacific apartments and 44 WorldMark, The Club apartments over the course of the year, at a rate of about four per week. The Grand and Deluxe rooms are first and more than 20 have been completed.

As some work was carried out during the resort’s closure in 2020 and 2021, the scale of refurbishment will vary from apartment to apartment, ranging from just a refresh of paint to replacement of furniture, soft furnishings and minor bathroom updates.

Work has recommenced on the refurbishment of the 36 remaining apartments at Club Wyndham Dunsborough and is expected to conclude in the coming months. The rooms will be repainted in line with a new colour scheme inspired by the local environment and beaches, while furniture, beds and soft furnishings will all be replaced. All bathrooms and powder rooms will be renewed, while kitchen benchtops will be replaced and cabinets resurfaced in the standard and Deluxe apartments. A second bathroom will be installed in the resort’s two-bedroom Grand apartments.

The club’s 18 apartments at Club Wyndham Rotorua will also undergo renewal later this year. A new colour scheme will be developed and all apartments will be repainted and given new furniture, soft furnishings, bedding and artwork. Work will be required in the bathrooms and kitchens of some apartments. The project is slated to begin in October and should conclude before Christmas. We will have more details in upcoming editions of Resort Report and the Club Wyndham magazine.

We wish you happy and safe travels!
