Rotwand’s slightly more difficult cousin, Brecherspitz offers many of the same attractions – hiking, climbing and skiing, capped off with stunning alpine views. Unlike Rotwand, those who manage to complete the ascent will be able to see both the Schliersee and Spitzingsee lakes. Brecherspitz’s flanks are quite steep and partially forested, so if you’re planning to tackle its highest ridge section, make sure you’re wearing good shoes and are relatively experienced.
