This afternoon, the Victorian Premier announced a tightening of travel and movement restrictions across the area of Metropolitan Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire for six weeks, starting from midnight tomorrow night, 8 July, 2020 (AEST). The renewed restrictions mean that people in those regions may only leave their home for four reasons, not including leisure travel.
I would encourage you to read the announcement on the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services website. For clarity, Travel Victoria’s website lists out the councils making up the Metropolitan Melbourne area.
Yesterday, we amended our cancellation policy to take into account tonight’s closure of the New South Wales and Victorian border. Today, we have made another adjustment to our policy in response to the Victorian Government’s latest announcement.
Club Wyndham Melbourne will be closed for six weeks commencing from tomorrow, in line with the Victorian Government’s restrictions. Our Owner Services team will cancel all reservations beginning before and including August 19 at Club Wyndham Melbourne. If you have a reservation at the hotel during that period, your credits will be returned to your account and, if they are expired, you will receive a voucher for future use. At this stage, the property will open again on August 20.
If you have a Metropolitan Melbourne or Mitchell Shire address on file and a reservation at a Club Wyndham South Pacific property over the next six weeks, our Owner Services team will send you a text message to cancel your reservation. Please confirm this as quickly as you can if this affects you and your credits will be returned or, if they are expired, you will receive a voucher within 14 days for future use.
Regional Victoria is not subject to the lockdown at this point. That means the following properties will remain open:
A REMINDER ABOUT QUARANTINE ARRANGEMENTS
When travelling from state to state, please remember that some states require travellers from certain areas to serve a two-week quarantine at a state-appointed facility at the travellers’ own cost. You will be unable to do this at a Wyndham property. We have not offered club properties as quarantine facilities and we will not be permitting isolation at a club property.
When travelling, you should check all restrictions and quarantine requirements that may apply. Before making a reservation, please check those restrictions as all new reservations are subject to the standard cancellation policy.
