Resort Update – 4 January 2022

In light of the escalating cases of COVID-19 at Fiji, we are strongly recommending our Club Wyndham South Pacific owners to reconsider their travel plans to Club Wyndham Denarau Island in coming weeks.

INTERNATIONAL TRAVELLERS
Cases of COVID-19 are increasing in Fiji. The country’s quarantine facilities are filling, as positive cases must isolate for a minimum of 14 days then return a negative test. While we have said our teams will take all reasonable steps to accommodate owners and guests or to help source accommodation during an isolation period, Club Wyndham Denarau Island no longer has the capacity to extend stays and we are concerned about the quality and quantity of alternative accommodation available.

Earlier in the week, our Owner Services team sent out an invitation to cancel for all reservations due to check-in before January 31. We now strongly urge you to reconsider your plans to travel during this period.

If you would like to cancel now, please confirm via the text message. Your credits will be returned to your account and, where your credits are expired, they will be subject to a new travel by date. If you have made a booking through Travel by Wyndham, please contact the team to see what flexibility can be offered for re-booking.

These are uncharted waters for our people – and Fiji – and we thank you for understanding that our teams are doing the best they can to manage the situation. We apologise for the inconvenience and changes to your travel plans. The situation in Fiji continues to evolve and we will issue updates when we have more information.

FIJI-BASED OWNERS AND GUESTS
We have implemented some changes and additional requirements for club owners and guests booked into Club Wyndham Denarau Island who are based in Fiji. These are designed to minimise the risk of COVID-19 at the resort and maximise the number of rooms available for international guests who may need to isolate.

As of January 1, 2022, owners or guests with a private residence in Fiji (belonging to them or immediate family) who test positive to COVID-19 while staying at the resort will be required to depart the resort immediately and perform their isolation at home. This will apply to all guests sharing the same apartment, who will be considered close contacts. As with all owners and guests testing positive for COVID-19, the charge to sanitise your apartment will start from FJ$350 (for a 1-bedroom apartment). We strongly advise owners or guests who have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19 or are feeling unwell not to come to the resort.

Your credits used in the cancelled part of the reservation will be returned to your account. Where your credits are expired, they will be subject to a new travel by date.

Additionally, from January 7, 2022, the resort will require proof of a negative Rapid Antigen Test from a Ministry of Health approved provider (Zens or Vanmed), taken at least 24 hours prior to arrival. This is applicable for all guests ages 12 and above, including those based locally. The rapid test can be undertaken at the resort on the day of arrival for the cost of FJ$30 – however, this MUST be booked two days beforehand by emailing reception.denarau@wyn.com. Keys will not be issued and access to the resort will not be permitted without proof of negative test results.

Please also note all COVID-19 protocols must be followed by all owners and guests while at the resort.

We understand that these recent developments may be disappointing but our resort team in Fiji remain optimistic that this will just be for a short period. In the meantime, thank you for working with us to provide safe resort experiences for all club owners and guests.
