October 16, 2020 | Latest Announcements
This month has finally brought with it some good news in the COVID-19 situation, with the caseload reduction in Victoria and the easing of some border restrictions for South Australia and Tasmania.
You can find out more about the latest border and gathering restrictions in Australia by looking at the Australian Government’s COVID-19 Restriction Checker.
CLUB WYNDHAM MELBOURNE
Our original re-opening date for Club Wyndham Melbourne was October 26, based upon the advice given by the Victorian Government early in the lockdown phase. At this point, we are continuing to work towards this date, although we will let you know if the advice changes. If any further cancellations are required because of an extended closure, your credits will be returned to your account or, if the credits have expired, a voucher will be issued within 14 days for future use.
AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND BORDER RESTRICTIONS
The original advice from the Victorian Government suggested that lockdown would be lifted from October 25. However, given the way things are moving, we expect that owners who are based in Victoria may not be able to travel outside of the state at least during the month of November. Restrictions on moving in and out of Western Australia are likely to remain next month, and there is the possibility that additional restrictions will continue for people travelling from New South Wales to Tasmania or Queensland.
However, it is apparent that we are moving into a time where border restrictions are being eased, rather than tightened. Therefore, our Owner Services team will contact you by text message if you have a reservation that may be impacted by border restrictions for November, but will give you the option to cancel. Cancelling is not compulsory; however, you should be aware of the cancellation window you have. If you receive a text message and you cancel within the window, your credits will be returned to your account or, if they have expired, a voucher will be issued within 14 days for future use.
The following owners will receive a text message:
In addition, New Zealand owners planning to travel to Australia and Australian owners planning to travel to New Zealand during November will also receive a message inviting them to cancel their reservation.
Because recent months have been unpredictable and some borders are expected to change in November, we have extended our COVID-19 cancellation policy to allow shorter cancellation windows to give owners the best chance of keeping interstate bookings. We have chosen not to force cancellations unless a resort is actually closed, as many owners have gifted reservations to family or friends, some have been living in different states for some time, and some are prepared to travel despite quarantine. You cannot quarantine at a Club Wyndham property.
You can see our latest COVID-19 cancellation policy here. It includes the cancellation windows.
Australian restrictions are based upon where you are so whether you receive a message or not from our team will depend on your address details held by the club. Please call us if you think we might have the incorrect address on file or if you have changed your address recently. The best way to do this is Contact Owner Services:

Unfortunately, Club Wyndham Denarau Island will remain closed for November. We are taking advantage of this time to bring forward significant works on site in preparation for a re-opening, and these works will continue throughout November.
Our teams will therefore cancel all November reservations at Club Wyndham Denarau Island. If this applies to you, your credits will be returned or, if the credits have expired, a voucher will be issued within 14 days for future use. We are constantly reviewing this in line with travel restrictions and look forward to re-opening as soon as possible.
Restrictions that are affecting tourism in Bali, Indonesia and France mean that there is also no clear indication on an opening date for Club Wyndham Dreamland Bali or Club Wyndham Normandy. Our teams are cancelling all November reservations at these two properties and, if this applies to you, your credits will be returned or, if the credits have expired, a voucher will be issued within 14 days for future use.
Club Wyndham Tuscany and Club Wyndham Bavaria are open but, because of restrictions on international travel, are inaccessible by many Club Wyndham South Pacific owners. However, reservations can be made by owners who are based in Europe. We ask that, before making a reservation, you check the travel advisories for your country of residence and your destination to ensure that you can safely travel and fulfil your reservation.
Club Wyndham Sea Pearl and all the club’s Japanese and Hawaiian properties are also accepting November reservations for owners who are based in the same country as their resort destination. Our teams will cancel all November reservations from owners who do not live in these markets. If this applies to you, your credits will be returned or, if the credits have expired, a voucher will be issued within 14 days for future use. We ask that, before making a new reservation, you check the travel advisories for your country of residence and your destination in order to make an informed decision.
Given the restrictions to interstate and international travel, demand for some resorts has been affected. We expect this situation to change as the COVID-19 caseload falls and the border restrictions are eased. However, the following properties have more than usual availability heading into summer:
The availability may present an opportunity to travel to a destination you have always wanted to explore or upgrade to an apartment type you previously have not experienced.
For live availability, log in with your owner number at clubwyndhamsp.com. Please check your local restrictions on travel and overnight accommodation before making a booking as all new reservations are subject to the standard club cancellation policies. There may also be some reduced facilities at resorts under COVID-19 restrictions, which you can see at each destination’s Before You Go page.

This year has presented many challenges but we are heartened by the recent good news. We thank you for your patience and for working with us so far in 2020.
