The largest urban park in Latin America, the word ‘chapultepec’ comes from the Aztecs’ Nahuatl, and, roughly translated, means ‘grasshopper hill’. The Aztecs originally designated it as a peaceful getaway, and built a palace there that was used by their king; after the Spanish conquest, the area was designated as a public park, and was remodeled into its current form.
