Bosque de Chapultepec

Mexico City, CDMX, Mexico

The largest urban park in Latin America, the word ‘chapultepec’ comes from the Aztecs’ Nahuatl, and, roughly translated, means ‘grasshopper hill’.  The Aztecs originally designated it as a peaceful getaway, and built a palace there that was used by their king; after the Spanish conquest, the area was designated as a public park, and was remodeled into its current form.  Packed with forests, lakes, museums, amusement centres, zoos, recreational areas and food kiosks, it’s arguably the beating heart of Mexico City, and a must-see for any visitors.
