Covid-19 Update 15 May 20 – Resort Opening Update

I am pleased to be able to provide you with a roadmap of our reopening program for Club Wyndham South Pacific resorts, following the recent announcements from state and federal governments in Australia and New Zealand about the easing of travel restrictions.

Last week, we announced the first 11 resorts we planned to open, based upon the latest health and travel advice available at the time. When announcing this plan, we mentioned that opening dates were subject to government restrictions on both travel and facilities and – as a consequence – may change. Some of the resorts that we intended to open on 1 June 2020 will now open two weeks later based on the plans that the Australian state governments have since announced.

However, New Zealand has eased its restrictions to allow domestic travel to occur, meaning that we can open Club Wyndham Wanaka for owners sooner than expected.

As travel restrictions are ever changing, this plan could be amended further. Our teams will continue monitoring the latest information and we will keep you informed about any changes.

At this stage, there may also be reduced facilities or amenities available or open at resorts, depending on relevant state government restrictions on pools, spas, restaurants, bars, cafes, gyms and other recreational spaces.

We treat your health and safety as our top priority – although we are also endeavouring to open your resorts as soon as possible.

 

Resort Openings

Subject to government restrictions on both travel and facilities, I am pleased to announce the following resorts will open from 1 June 2020, to a maximum of 50 per cent capacity:

  • Ramada Resort by Wyndham Rotorua Marama
  • Club Wyndham Wanaka

We intend to open the following resorts on 15 June 2020 to a maximum of 50 per cent capacity, also depending on government restrictions:

  • Ramada Resort by Wyndham Golden Beach
  • Ramada by Wyndham Marcoola Beach
  • Club Wyndham Kirra Beach
  • Club Wyndham Flynns Beach
  • Club Wyndham Shoal Bay
  • Club Wyndham Dinner Plain Mt Hotham
  • Club Wyndham Torquay
  • Ramada Resort by Wyndham Phillip Island
  • Club Wyndham Seven Mile Beach
  • Club Wyndham Dunsborough

This means there are now no accommodation options available in Australia until 15 June 2020, which reflects the restrictions on travel at this point in the country.

Our intention is to open the following properties from 1 July 2020 at a maximum of 50 per cent capacity, also depending on government restrictions:

  • Club Wyndham Port Douglas
  • Club Wyndham Airlie Beach
  • Club Wyndham Surfers Paradise
  • Club Wyndham Coffs Harbour
  • Club Wyndham Sydney
  • Club Wyndham Melbourne
  • Club Wyndham Ballarat
  • Club Wyndham Perth

Club Wyndham Denarau Island, Club Wyndham Sea Pearl and Club Wyndham Dreamland Bali are slated to reopen on 1 August 2020, subject to local guidelines and restrictions on international travel. We are working on timelines for our contracted properties with the managers of the relevant properties.

Cancellation Policy Update

At this stage, our Owner Services team is systematically cancelling June reservations at properties that are closed. If you had a booking at Club Wyndham Dunsborough, Club Wyndham Shoal Bay, Ramada Resort by Wyndham Golden Beach or Ramada Resort by Wyndham Phillip Island starting prior to June 15, our team will contact you to cancel your reservation. You will initially be sent a text message or email and, if you quickly confirm the cancellation, the team can process it.

When your reservation is cancelled, your credits will be deposited into your account and, if these credits are already expired, you will receive a voucher that provides additional availability within 14 days.

We have extended our cancellation policy to include any reservations starting in June or July. If you wish to cancel, you can do so by responding to the text message or email our team has sent you. At this point, we have only cancelled July reservations in response to requests and those booked at international resorts.

If you live in New Zealand and had a booking at Club Wyndham Wanaka during June or July that you had opted to cancel, our Owner Services team will soon send a text message or email enabling you to keep the original booking.

At the moment, we have closed new bookings for June and July so we can open the resorts at a reduced capacity. However, this may be revised later as the situation evolves.
